Online Lessons
Beyond the 64 Squares
This series of 16 articles originally appeared in the
School Mates Magazine, USCF's the official junior chess publication. They
are written by our very own National Master Ross Stoutenborough.
We are pleased to offer them as a free service to our
Chess Center enthusiasts. The goal of these lessons is to share life
principles that go beyond the 64 squares. Enjoy.
Ross Stoutenborough became a chess master at the age
of 17. Some of his competitive chess achievements include: US Open Junior
Champion, American Open co-champion, 2nd place in US Invitational Junior
Championship, Northern England Junior Champion and silver medallist in the World
Student Chess Olympics.
Though retired from tournament play, he continues to love and follow the
game. Ross is our web designer. He can be reached at ross@chess-center.com.
